Community Meal

The Place of Forsyth County provides a weekly Wednesday noon meal and a monthly senior luncheon in Forsyth County. (The luncheons supplement their surplus and food pantry.) Sponsors are needed. The organization's objective is to ensure that no one in the community goes hungry. Call Sandy at (770) 887-1098, Ext. 225, to reserve a luncheon date.


Adopt-A-Stream Workshop

Adopt-A-Stream Chemical Monitoring Workshop
Agency: Keep Forsyth County Beautiful

Volunteers will learn how to test the physical properties of local streams to determine water quality. This is a prerequisite to the Adopt-A-Stream program. This is a 4 hour workshop, so please be sure to bring lunch! Volunteers will be getting in the stream, so bring waders or water shoes!

The minimum age for this project is 8 years old, children under 18 must have a signed release form. Children 12 and under must have a parent/guardian present. This project is open to court ordered individuals.

This is a free introduction workshop, no science background is required. Come out and have fun!

Hospitality Highway Century

Choose from the 8-mile I Did It ride or the 25-mile, 63-mile, and 100-mile options. Registration is $40 ($45 if received after July 4, including day of event) and includes a t-shirt, food, water and full mechanical support along the route. The ride is open to anyone 14-years of age or older.

Please show up at the event on Sunday no later than 5:45 a.m. to register. See 400century.com for location details. Be a part of history as we shut down GA 400 for the inaugural Hospitality Highway Century to benefit the Georgia Transplant Foundation! The ride starts at exit 7 of Ga 400, and will wind through Roswell, Sandy Springs, Milton, Mountain Park Johns Creek, Alpharetta, and other scenic areas of north Fulton.

Caring Hands Military Card Writing

Hope for the Hungry

Newborns in Need

Newborns in Need Cumming chapter meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at Deer Creek Shores Presbyterian Church, 7620 Lanier Drive. Men and women who can sew, knit, crochet or just cut out and stack fabric are wanted to participate. The group makes various baby items for premature newborns and families in economic need.
