Water Saver Kits Available to Forsyth County Residents

Forsyth County, Georgia - Water conservation is now a little easier. The Forsyth County Water and Sewer Department is currently offering Water Saver Kits for $10.

These water conservation kits can be used to help save water, energy and money by reducing flow from showers and faucets, using less water per flush, and detecting toilet tank leaks.

Water Saver Kits can be purchased in the Forsyth County Water and Sewer Department main office, located inside the County Administration Building at 110 East Main Street, Suite 150 in Cumming.

"Conserving water is important throughout the year," Director of Water and Sewer Tim Perkins said. "We are hoping these kits make it easier for local residents to save their money while conserving this resource for future generations."

The Water Saver Kits include a low-flow showerhead, a kitchen swivel aerator, a bathroom aerator and leak detection tablets for detecting toilet leaks. The kits include instructions on how to install these devices and measure the savings.

The Water Saver Kits effort targets homes built before 1993. Officials say it is important to focus on water conservation in the home since 54 percent of water used in the Atlanta region is used in the home. The Water Saver Kits can improve the conservation of less efficient plumbing fixtures.
