Help Clean Forsyth County Road by Road

FORSYTH COUNTY, Georgia - Keep Forsyth County Beautiful (KFCB) encourages citizens to form a group of volunteers to clean up litter during the 2011 Great American Cleanup. Families, friends, co-workers, scout troops, school clubs and others are invited to clean up Forsyth County one road at a time.
The Great American Cleanup will be held Saturday, April 30 at 9 a.m. Volunteer groups will meet in the big red barn at the Cumming Fairgrounds, located at 235 Castleberry Road in Cumming, for a brief rally and to pick up supplies.
Groups will then set out throughout the county to clean as many roads as possible for two hours. Following the two hours of picking up litter, groups are invited to return for a hot dog and burger lunch fresh off the grill.
During the 2010 Great American Cleanup event, 227 volunteers removed 365 bags of trash from 14 different locations in Forsyth County. Statewide, over 64,000 volunteers cleaned up enough miles to circle the entire state 2.6 times. This year, KFCB hopes to continue these considerable strides in cleaning up litter off Forsyth County roads with more volunteers.
